 Abstract:
Interfacial microstructure has been examined in a brazing filler metal alloy with embedded diamond grits.
Superabrasive tool surfaces embedded with diamond grits are of great technical importance for high efficiency machining of metals, ceramics and composite materials. On the other hand, generally speaking, performance of diamond saws is influenced strongly by Interfacial microstructure between embedded diamond grits and base materials.
Superhard materials was used as base materials of superabrasive tool. In this study, Ni-based brazing filler alloy is employed as base materials of superabrasive tool. So interfacial microstructure between embedded diamond grits and base materials (Ni-based brazing filler alloys) are investigated in this study. Interfacial microstructure has been examined by SEN-EDX and TEM.
