 Abstract:
Generally, the abradability of abradable sealing coatings was characterized by the frication coefficient and porosity of coatings. While, these properties of the abradable sealing coating was not estimated exactly. In this paper, a new definition which was used for characterizing abradable sealing coatings was presented. According to this definition, some equipment was designed to realize the measure of abradable factor. The high temperature abradability of nickel clad h-BN and amorphous zirconia was estimated by the abradable factor, based on the definition and realization of the abradable factor. As the experimental results, the definition and realization should be an exact method of evaluating the abradability of high-temperature abradable coatings.
