 Abstract:
High velocity oxygen/Air fuel (HVO/AF) sprayed WC coatings have been found wide applications as a substitution of chrome plating in the aeroplane industry. The wear of HVO/AF WC coated landing gear against KK3 alloy leads to the wear or spalling of WC particles, and finally results in the degradation of sealing property for landing gear system. WC-Co coating with nano-structrued WC particles exhibites good wear resistance, and the weight loss of KK3 alloy is also reduced. The nanoscaled WC-12Co, conventional WC-12Co and WC-10Co4Cr coatings are respectively prepared using agglorated, sintered nanoscaled WC-12Co and conventional WC-12Co and WC-10Co4C powders via HVAF process. The wear behaviors for all as-sprayed coatings against KK3 alloy are investigated at the different loads and wear line speeds. The research is expected to provide the basis for the application of HVAF nanoscaled WC coating in landing gear.
