Each year a large number of papers are presented during the International Conference. They are given by some of the best people in the Thermal Spray Industry and Universities in the world. However, even though the Papers have a lot of good scientific information, a large amount of it is not usable in the commercial industry. It is great to present the most up-to-date information with state of the art equipment, but a large majority of companies do not have it nor can they afford it. Test results with a controlled environment such as a lab often do not correlate to actual field processes. I would like to reroute some of the information flow so that more of it is beneficial to the regular industries that do the work. I will break down some common problems and some new ideas that could help all of us every day.
