 Abstract:
Research was made on flow fields of confined nozzles which have been broadly used in powder metallurgy and spray coating technology. Results were found that the convergent angle and extrusion of guide tube greatly effected the flow field. Parallel gas flow can be converged at one point due to the negative pressure effect. With the increasing of convergent angle, negative pressure field was reduced and even extinguished. Maximum gas velocity and momentum was improved due to the increased convergent angle. Extrusion of guide tube may contribute to form of negative pressure field and aspiration phenomenon; thereby a negative pressure field can be kept at a wide range of convergent angle.
