Development of porous ceramic coating for high efficiency cooling system

 Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to develop the advanced hybrid cooling system combined with porous ceramic coating and transpiration mechanism. This presentation will show the result in trial of developing porous ceramic coating by atmospheric plasma-spraying (APS) technique. As the obtained results, we will show to be able to obtain porous ceramic thin film with superior performance in cooling gas permeability by using composite powder of YSZ and polyester. It is also shown that the associated thermal conductivity has a half of the dense one, which is the other benefit to reduce metal temperature. Finally, the result obtained by cycling gradient high-temperature test will be indicated, in order to validate the cooling performance of porous ceramic coating.
