 Abstract:
Two kinds of thermal barrier coating system were prepared on the carbon steel substrates by different plasma spraying. Both of their NiCrAlY bond layers at the bottom were deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS), and ZrO2-8Y2O3 as the thermal barrier coatings on top were respectively deposited by very low pressure plasma spraying (VLPPS) at the pressure of 100Pa and atmospheric plasma spraying (APS). In this paper, the microstructures of the VLPPS and APS coatings were compared, and the thermal cyclic at 1000 of the TBCs were also tested. It is investigated that the microstrucre of the TBCs plays the important role in the process of thermal cyclic.
