 Abstract:
The abradables are widely used in the gas turbines as the clearance control coatings and there are over 40 abradables of different composition and different structure in use and in developing. The most important property of the abradable is its abradablity, while the abradable mechanism which includes the relationship between the coating composition, microstructure, application conditions and the abradablity is still unclear. In this paper, the abradablity of 6 abradables of different composition and structure were tested on the abradablity testing rig, and the relationship between the abradablity and the coating hardness, bond strength, microstructure as well as the blade width was analyzed.
