 Abstract:
The paper presents results of investigations of arc sprayed coatings tribological characteristics. Four unique chemical composition experimental wires: STEIN-MESYFIL 953V; STEIN-MESYFIL 932V; STEIN-MESYFIL 954V; STEIN-MESYFIL 957V were used for thermal arc spraying. The coatings have been deposited on steel substrates. Wear behavior of coatings were talked over with considering to load and relative velocity. Wear tests were performed under 3-body-abrasion as well as combined impact/abrasion conditions, respectively. Dry-sand rubber-wheel procedure according ASTM G65 was used to investigate low stress abrasion, whereas for high stress abrasion investigations a steel wheel was used. This investigation shows that the tribological behavior of thermal arc sprayed ferrous based Mn-Si-Cr-Mo, Mn-Si-Co, Mn-Mo-Ni and Mn-Cr coatings is greatly affected by its microstructural constituents such as porosity, oxide inclusions and shape of particle and microhardness of coatings. Results for thermal sprayed coatings of all experiments are discussed.
