 Abstract:
Wear protection is one of the major applications of B4C-Ni coatings. B4C-Ni powders with Ni content of 10, 30 and 50wt% fabricated by pressurized hydrogen reduction process were characterized and deposited by air plasma spray process. The microstructure and phase structure of the powders and the as-sprayed coatings were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). The microhardness Hv0.3 was measured. The influence of Ni content on the thermal shock resistance and sliding wear resistance for the as-sprayed coatings were investigated.
