 Abstract:
The demands for increased onboard power consumption have resulted in an ever increasing heat dissipation capacity of radiator in spacecrafts. Low- temperature soldering is the key technology to improve the thermal conductivity between heat pipe and radiator when the pipe is encapsulated with volatile working fluid. While Ga-Cu eutectic alloy has excellent properties in low temperature solder, it has vital drawback to corrosion aluminum. In this work, we have investigated Cu cold spray coatings on heat pipe to provide a diffusion barrier for preventing interfacial reacting during low temperature soldering process. The effect of the coating on the joints interface microstructure, tensile strength, and thermal conductivity, the preventing property of the coating have been investigated in detail.
