 Abstract:
As shown by previous study there are differences in structural features of metastable austenite type coatings and overlays due to Fe-based alloys. In the present work tribological properties of the depositions produced from Fe-C-Cr-Ti-Al feedstock were analyzed. Coatings were deposited by arc spraying and overlays were deposited by arc surfacing. Abrasion and adhesive wear tests, structural and phase analyses were performed. It was demonstrated that austenite/martensite ratio in structures varies from the coating to the overlay due to formation conditions and applied external loads. It leads to differences in tribological properties of the depositions at such loads as abrasive wear, dry and lubricated friction.
