 Abstract:
The heat resistance of thermal sprayed coatings depend on test conditions. Not all test methods allow to use different combination during the test, for ex. high velocity flame flow and abrasion particles. Heat resistance of metallic and ceramic coatings depend on parameters of flame, e.g. temperature, velocity, attack angle, etc.
In this work we investigate heat resistance of thermally sprayed coatings by using HVOF model of TSPC-HVP robotic system. This system consists of high velocity flame spray gun and robotic system.
Ceramic coatings were tested on thermal resistance with one sided high velocity gas heating. During the test thermal barrier properties of metallic and ceramic coatings were studied by using different temperature control equipment. It was shown that there are wide range of high temperature test conditions, more than 2000°C, which can be reproduce by using TSPC-HVP system and those test conditions can be reproduced with high precision.
