 Abstract:
This research aims to study the microstructure and photocatalytic performances of titanium dioxide coating prepared by plasma sprayphysical vapor deposition (PS-PVD) technique. The TiO2 powders and their coatings were characterized by SEM, EDS, XRD, and UVvis spectroscopy. A significant amount of anatase to rutile transformation was found to occur during cooling. Examination of the microstructure revealed that the coating microstructure was columnar structures with cauliflower structure. Photocatalytic activity determined by a methylene blue showed that all the coatings exhibited high photocatalytic activity in comparison with that of a commercial solgel coating.
