 Abstract:
The nano-ZrO2-7%Y2O3 powder produced by domestic company was used to deposit dense vertically cracked thermal barrier coatings (Dense Vertically Cracked TBCs) via the Delta plasma spray system (Delta gun). The influence of preheating temperature of substrates the thickness of single deposition and spray power on microstructure of coatings was researched in detail. The dense vertically cracked thermal barrier coatings were produced successfully through adjusting plasma parameters and thermal shock test of the coatings was performed. The result demonstrated that the thermal barrier coatings with DVC structure had excellent thermal shock resistance, and its lifetime was 206 cycles quenching into ambient water for cooling, which was obviously better than that prepared by conventional APS (thermal fatigue life less than 100 cycles). The porosity of the thermal barrier coatings prepared by Delta gun was 2.5%-7.3% and bonding strength of the coatings was 20-30MPa.
