Abstract: |
The aim of the work was to evaluate the performance of novel Fe-based MMC coatings under sand abrasion and rock impact wear situations. Evaluation was performed with multiscale material modeling approach. Microstructural models were created for the coatings and simulation results were compared with experimental tests. Results of the work were the evaluation of damage mechanisms and tolerance, the effect of microstructural features and properties as well as wear resistance of the coatings. Good agreement was found between the experiments and simulations.
