 Abstract:
A metal coating is being used to enhance the electrical or erosion performance of carbon reinforced polymer composites. Grit blasting, laser surface treatment, are some of the substrate preparation techniques being used for good coating adhesion strength. Lower Bondstrength is the main factor for the failure of the coating. A new bond layer is being invented to improve the bondstrength of the CRFP and metal coating. The bondstrength is up to 10Mpa with the layer mixed by resin and metal. The Cr3C2 wear resistant coating is also successfully deposited on the new layer of CRFP using super-detonation spray.
