Abstract: |
The development of new turbines, in particular larger ones, is facing the requirements of the coaters of aviation turbine components. It is necessary to coat significantly larger components, stable in production and under increased quality criteria. Plasma system technology must offer solutions that enable controlled quality under stable production conditions with higher powder throughputs and higher deposition efficiency. Furthermore, the coatings systems have to be multifunctional, and, in addition to multi-cathodes and single-cathode plasma torches, include further coating methods such as HVOF, arc spraying and others.
The article describes the design and results of multifunctional robot based coating centers based on high-performance axial plasma technology for the coating of turbine components. Results of typical coatings like AlSi-polyester and oxide-ceramic will be discussed.
