Abstract: |
The current change towards e-mobility results in novel heat exchanger designs and material requirements. Hydro has developed a range of new materials to meet this challenge and can now provide tailored solutions for applications like battery cooling or casing. A high flexibility in the choice of the core alloys and the layer structure allows us to cover a wide range of requirements from cost efficient solutions to sophisticated materials with extraordinarily high strength and corrosion resistance. The new materials were thoroughly evaluated regarding brazing properties, strength and corrosion properties using lab tests as well a component tests with brazed battery cooling plate prototypes. Based on these comprehensive tests recommendations for material concepts, matching different levels of requirements, will be presented.
