 Abstract:
Traditionally, flux for brazing had been applied as a homogenous coating over an area or a continuous line. Emerging technologies like battery cooler for electric vehicles request larger and often more complex designs hard to realize with common solutions when post-braze flux residue continue to drop.

Honeywell has addressed these common concerns by developing Honeywell Micronized Flux for a robust, clean and safe, cost effective Jet-Flux technology. Honeywell Micronized Flux dispersions can be applied with a contact-less digital printing technology from a cartridge. Fluxing from any direction, top down, top side and bottom up as needed with control over the individual flux dot pattern is a functional, practical method for partial fluxing. Honeywell Jetflux dispersions open the door towards variable flux weights within one part, e.g. increase at critical locations, instead of one-fits-all coating weight. Precise weight control and accurately positioned deposition allows fluxing of complex shaped parts without overspray and reduces post-braze flux residue.

Jet-Flux technology enables new paths of fluxing complex designs and irregular or uneven surfaces when applying Honeywell Micronized Flux, which contains unique multi-constituent phase materials of potassium and cesium flux with high reactivity. Together excellent braze results and low flux residue targets are achieved.
