 Abstract:
Cold spray technology emerged as a practical technology in the 1980’s from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. As we move into 2022 and beyond, the pace of the commercial implementationof this technology in production applications continues to grow in areas beyond repair, restoration, and remanufacturing. Although the Aerospace industry continues to lead the commercial implementation of cold spraying for non-structural restoration, otherindustry segments appear to start benefiting from the ability of cold spray for production of novel products. These novel implementations demand cost-effective, reliable, repeatable, maintainable, and productive equipment. One important piece of a cold sprayproduction system is the powder feeder which ought to function accordingly. Over the last few years CenterLine-SST has developed promising non-pressurized powder feeding technology that complies with such demands. This presentation will explore some of thecharacteristics of these new powder feeding systems.
