 Abstract:
Plasma electrolytic oxidation is very effective method for production of protective and decorative coatings on aluminium profiles and other constructive elements. In this work plasma electrolytic oxidation of aluminium coatings obtained by arc spraying on aluminium substrates was carried out. To estimate the wear resistance of those oxide coatings two abrasive wear tests (ASTM G65 and ASTM G171 wear test) were carried out and wear surface and worn mechanisms are investigated. The correlation between the results of the abrasive wear tests, process parameters of PEO and micro structure of the coatings are discussed.
