 Abstract:
Simultaneous EB welding and heat treatment with multi-pools was investigated to diminished the cooling rate for near ± titanium alloy, which included EBW simultaneous with preheating or post-heating. Welding figuration of simultaneous welding and heat treatment was favorable, and the welding cracks and porosities were reduced. The Property tests were carried on, including the microstructure, microhardness and tensile properties. The results showed that the microstructure of the welds became coarser, and the microhardness was more homogeneous after simultaneous EB welding and heat treatment with multi-pool. Furthermore, the percentage elongation after fracture of the joints with simultaneous EBW and heat treatment was 30% more than that of conventional EB welding
