 Abstract:
Shortage of resources and reduction of pollutant emission on the one hand, increased passenger safety and comfort standards on the other hand demands new constructions. New concepts has forced designers to use light-weight material and to redesign turbines in respect of higher efficiencies.
In order to achieve the higher production volumes demanded by the aerospace industry high processing rates with constant quality and low operating costs are absolute requirements.
Typical aircraft components for EB welding will be presented together with tailored processing machines for these applications.
One important item is the possibility to weld and smooth the surface in one cycle, called duplex welding, with weld and following cosmetic profiles simultaneously.
The duplex welding is one component of the fast electron beam deflection modules EBO JUMP which is capable being integrated also in existing machines.
