Abstract: |
Modern arc welding processes are driven by powerful mechatronics which are available on todays market. The AC technology considerably increases the limits of gas-shielded metal-arc welding. It works almost spatter-free and enables, for example, the joining of thin walled structures with varying gaps or even large gaps. Furthermore it ensures an excellent arc stability providing an essential impulse to the operators to use the welding process effect to their economic advantage. Complex electronics within the power source lead to numerous and complex interacting controls and parameters which are combined to only few necessary adjustments. The operator has clear and uncomplicated setting possibilities and benefits from the knowledge within the power sources and the ex-periences of the manufacturer.
