 Abstract:
Laser materials processing has opened up ever more areas of application in recent years and industrial fabrication is no longer conceivable without it.

While it has, until now, predominantly been a matter of portraying the actual process (e.g. with a robot in a self-contained small unit), interlinked, fully automatic installations have also been the subject of inquiries and put into effect for quite some time.

These installations are utilised for the laser welding of hydraulic tanks or medium-voltage switchgear housings. In both installations, the jigs are transferred into and out of the laser welding cell and the welding is carried out in a fully automatic operation in each case.

With regard to the laser cutting of switchgear cabinets, the advantage lies in the automated offline program creation in order to be able to fabricate them in an economically viable way right down to the quantity of one.
