 Abstract:
Thermal spraying of composite powders, which particles consist of ultra-fine inclusions of hard chemical compounds in matrix of metal or metal alloy (WC-Co, TiC-NiCr, Cr3C2-NiCr, etc.), gives wide opportunities in the field of creation of the wear-resistant surface layers intended for extreme application conditions.
In the present work, on the example of TiC-NiCr system, the method of production of TiC+Me cermet powders with particle size of 40-90 microns with preset volume content of ultra-fine carbide inclusions is offered. The method is based on combination of mechanoactivation and SHS which is carried out in the free mode of combustion and does not demand additional mechanical power-consuming costs of grinding of intermediate synthesized compact.
Results of characterization of coatings received by means of atmospheric plasma spraying of powders of TiC-NiCr with various volume content of carbide inclusions are presented.
