Raising demands in industry lead to advanced solution for wear and corrosion protection. This is valid for the paper machinery as well, where the cost effectivness is a factor of extremely high importance. The paper shows positions in the paper machinery, where thermal spray coatings are replacing rubber solutions, supported by a very low total cost of owner ship, which needs to be focussed for appyling advanced solutions.
In the particular case study also a certain functional propertey could be added in the coatings to be devolpped besides the improved wear and corrosion resistance. The paper will discuss in detail the single benefits of the thermal spray solution versus the former one.
