 Abstract:
Cold spray technology emerged as a practical technology in the 1980s from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. Over thirty years later, the commercial implementation of this technology continues to grow stronger in aerospace as well as other industrial sectors. Aerospace continues to pioneer the commercial implementation of cold spray technology in applications such as dimensional restoration, corrosion repair, and seal surface repair of high value aircraft components, which require tight tolerances. Earth moving machinery and transport industries follow closely with similar applications. Because of its beneficial attributes, cold spray is being considered as a key technology in emerging fields such as re-manufacturing and additive manufacturing. This presentation will present new advances on equipment, materials, and methods used in various commercial applications in the Americas
