 Abstract:
Well-known detonation thermal spraying is considered to be a good method for the preparation of WC-based coating with high adhesion. The depositing parameter especial the fuel-oxygen ratio and spot frequency observably influence the properties of the coating.
In this study a detonation thermal sprayed WC-Ni coatings were deposited on the low carbon steels substrates. The microstructure, hardness, phase state, bonding strength of the coatings were investigated. The results demonstrated that with increases the fuel-oxygen ratio and spot frequency of detonation result in the hardness and bonding strength of the coatings increased.
High fuel-oxygen ratio and spot frequency decelerated the decomposition of the WC-phase, which provide high mechanical properties.
