 Abstract:
Thermal spraying is a well-established and industrial developed technology for surface coatings engineering with high application speed, high deposition rates, and relatively low cost. Thermal spray is characterized by wide variations of spraying techniques (plasma, flame, arc, warm spraying, cold spraying, aerosol deposition), wide variety of spray materials (metals, ceramics, plastics and their composites) and several research challenges. This study will show our recent research activity upon developing a new plasma spray system with low working power about 3 kW. Furthermore, investigating the feasibility of deposition of fine ceramic particles by this spraying system.
