 Abstract:
Cold spray materials have great attention to applying the new additive manufacturing process. An adhesion strength between deposit and substrate is one of the most important properties.
In particular, the macroscopic adhesion strength is dominated by the strength of local and micro region of the interface. Hence, the strength evaluation technique for microscale interface needs for the understanding of the adhesion mechanism. A focused ion beam (FIB) micro-strength test enables the micro-scale evaluation of the interface mechanical properties. Our previous study achieved the strain measurement by combining FIB technique with image analysis. In this study, we will discuss the relationship between the micro-scale adhesion strength and deposition / adhesion mechanism of cold spray deposit.
