 Abstract:
Friction surfacing is well suited for the soldering of metallic components. It has the advantage that the solder is locally firmly adhered by friction without additives. The use of the process is limited by process-specific disadvantages and insufficient understanding of the process. Due to the high pressure so far only thick-walled components (shafts, thick sheet) can be coated. Supporting the process with an additional energy source (resistance heating), the contact pressure can be reduced and the coating of thin-walled components or the use of higher-strength solder materials can be made possible.

The article presents the used equipment and first results of the hybrid process research. The focus will be on the influences of the various parameters and the impact of these on the quality of the coating.
