 Abstract:
High joint strength and high corrosion resistance are required for brazing filler materials for automotive EGR cooler. NiCrSi and NiCrPSi brazing filler materials are usually used for this application.
On the other hand, because cost reduction is strongly demanded, Fe addition to these materials has been examined. However, it is known that the Fe addition increases the melting point of these materials. Therefore, these materials must be brazed at high temperature.
New Ni based brazing filler material was developed. The developed material includes not only Fe but also Cu. Cu was added to decrease the melting point without decreasing the joint strength. It was cleared that this developed material showed higher corrosion resistance than NiCrPSi commercial material.
