 Abstract:
The digitalization spreads in all areas of todays business. Communication over LAN or Wifi Networks is nothing new anymore. More and more industrial equipment and components are transferring data in real time. This applies also to the modern welding machines. Welding parameters, consumption and cost can be made visible and available. This makes it easier to monitor quality, resources and costs in real time or according to the recorded information. These advantages could be used also for the practical education of welders. Live welding parameters can support the teachers, recorded welding parameters could provide a self-learning effect for the welders, barcodes od QR- codes could make the administration of test pieces and tests easier and faster. The presentation shows the potential behind the network supported welding equipment and describes different scenarios for the implementation in the practical welding education.
